Anderlecht President Roger Vanden Stock gives in the media his sentiment over this season and the next one. First he is confident in Franky Vercauteren.

"He can sign a three-years contract as first coach but he has not made up his mind yet"

The president does not want to comment on Broos's sacking: "I have read what he declared last week. A few things really displease me but I do not want to make any other comment. I understand he can be frustrated. The chapter is over."

Roger Vanden Stock is realistic: "As a neutral observator, I have to admit that the championship is finished for us. But as a supporter, I still hope that Bruges will weaken."

"I am not unsatisfied of our performance this year in the Belgian championship. We can still reach 82 points at the end of the season. Unfortunately Bruges were too strong."

"Our season is however not a great success: an early elimination in the Belgian Cup and a sad 0/18 in Champions League."

What does he think of a few players? Let us have a quick look:

Aruna: "He will leave us. Many clubs are interested but there is no concrete offer. His price has dramatically gone down."

Kompany: "I hope we will keep him one more year. Who wants him? At the moment there is only one offer, Chelsea's, but many others are interested."

Wilhelmsson: "No problem with him: we will adapt his contract until 2007 or 2008. He should not leave us this summer."

Baseggio: "He has a big trouble. He will have to show his real value."

Mpenza: "We bought him to replace Aruna. As soon as Aruna leaves us, the 'Mpenza problem' will be solved."

Mitu, Cruz, De Ceulaer: "They are only speculations. I will not reveal our plans in terms of transfer."

Will Anderlecht buy new players this summer? "We are looking for players who arrive at the end of their contract but we also keep some money to buy a possible player as we have done it with Grégoire. But how can we rival with clubs like Manchester United that have 10 times our budget?", asks Vanden Stock.
