The media are guessing who will be the successor of Hugo Broos. Het Laatste Nieuws judged the chances of five candidates: Eric Gerets, Co Adriaanse, Georges Leekens, Joël Muller and Huub Stevens.

Eric Gerets (Wolfsburg): His position as coach of the German team is in danger. He wants to return to Belgium, and has lots of international experience. Nevertheless, he dreams about Standard, not about Anderlecht.

Co Adriaanse (AZ): Has much experience, and will resign from his job as AZ-coach. He wants to lead a bigger team. He is very straight-forward, which is necessary to lead a team like Anderlecht.

Georges Leekens (AA Ghent): He already was coach of Anderlecht, but got sacked. Nevertheless, Leekens is a succesful coach.

Joel Muller (formerly Lens): Was already coach of Metz, and afterwards he became coach of Lens, with whom he obtained the second place in the French competition, and qualified for the Champions League. Was sacked a few weeks ago, so he is a free man now.

Huub Stevens (FC Cologne): is a very severe coach, a good example of the German "Gründlichkeit". He won the German Cup with Schalke twice, and has won the UEFA-Cup. He had the chance to go to Roda, but refused that move. If the team goes to the Bundesliga, he will stay in Cologne.
