Anderlecht have won without any trouble of Beveren. The Mauves defeated them with a 5-2 score. Before the game, Kompany received flowers for his Golden Shoe from the hands of Miss Belgium 2004.

And that seems to have impressed him, because he and Tihinen made a serious mistake after two minutes. Sanogo scored the 0-1. Beveren continued with good football, but couldn't double the lead. The Anderlecht defense seemed to have difficulties with the fast Beveren players. Especially Kompany played a weak first half.

Slowly, Anderlecht regained control of the game. At half time, the score was 3-1. First Aruna could head in the equaliser. Vanderhaeghe doubled the score from a nice effort and Grégoire set RSCA on a confortable lead: 3-1.

In the second half, Deschacht made a serious blunder, when he offered Sanogo an assist: 3-2. Mpenza, who played a great second half, became man of game. First he headed on the post, but later on he scored two goals. He could even have completed his hattrick, but missed a few good chances.
That way, the game ended on a 5-2 score. Last but not least: Anderlecht brought good football in the second half, something the club needed after a few dark weeks.
PS: 4 more goals of Anderlecht were denied by the referee, who left a bad impression during the whole game.
