TRANSFERS According to Egyptian media, Anderlecht shows interest in Aliou Dieng. This 25-year old defensive midfielder from Mali is one of the key players of the Egyptian top club Al Ahly. Galatasaray is also interested. The asking price is 5 million dollars.

According to journalist Magdy Abdel-Ghani, Dieng already informed his club about Anderlecht's interest. A departure would be negotiable if the right sum is on the table.

Dieng has played for Al Ahly since 2019. He won the African Champions League twice. He has also played 25 international matches for Mali. He still has a contract at Al Ahly until 30 June 2026. His market value is estimated at 3.5 million euros.

In our humble opinion, it would be surprising if Anderlecht would actually make a move for Dieng. With Kana, Cullen, Olsson and Trebel, Anderlecht already has four defensive, controlling midfielders in their selection. Only when a few of them leave, Dieng seems to be an option.
