One more chance for Broos, Vercauteren successor?

It's a difficult situation for Hugo Broos after the disappointing 2-2 draw in Sint-Truiden. If nothing has improved in Mons tomorrow, the board will ask Vercauteren to take over the lead at least until the end of the season.

He would even sign a long-term contract, if the team really starts playing well. Vercauteren still has a contract until 2008 as assistant-coach.

"I am aware that a coach has to pay if the team doesn't play well", said Broos, who was never fired before in his 16-year old career. "I would lie if I said that I haven't thought about leaving the team."

Van Holsbeeck doesn't want to say much about the case, but it is sure that a victory against Mons tomorrow really is necessary.
