Delcroix ready for 90 minutes, Zirkzee uncertain

INJURIES It remains to be seen whether Anderlecht can count on Joshua Zirkzee again on Sunday. "After tomorrow's training we will know who can and cannot play," Vincent Kompany said on his press conference yesterday. Who we can certainly expect to kick off, is Hannes Delcroix.


"Joshua remained on the sidelines against Brugge as a precaution," Kompany announced. "Fortunately, we were able to avoid a serious injury."

Delcroix (photo) celebrated his return against Club after months of injury. He played a strong 45 minutes. "We were careful not to let him return too soon. Maybe he was ready one or two weeks earlier, but we did not take the risk. During an internal game last Monday, it appeared that he was ready to play his role for 45 minutes. Fortunately, because of Magallan's yellow card and the space we gave away, we had to bring him."

Is Delcroix now ready for ninety minutes, a journalist present wanted to know. "In my opinion yes," replied Kompany, "but we will only know when he has played his first ninety minutes. You have the medical aspect, but also the one of match rhythm."
