INTERVIEWS Kristian Arnstad was the surprise of the chief against Club Brugge. It was his second time in the starting eleven, the first was a year and a half ago, also against Club Bruges. Then he wasn't ready yet. On Sunday, he played superbly and was voted 'man of the match'. "I can still do more," he sounded confident afterwards.

Arnstad was told by Vincent Kompany on Saturday after training that he would start. "I immediately called my parents. They tried to come from Norway to here, but it did not work out." Stressed about playing, he didn't have. "I'm not a person who is bothered by that much."

Arnstad has become much more mature in comparison to his first starting spot. Lior Refaelov plays a big role in that. "He sits next to me in the dressing room and gives me a lot of tips. He's a real leader," said 18-year-old Arnstad. "I've matured and taken steps forward physically."

Arnstad has been a defining figure with the U21 in recent months. He still has a contract until the middle of next year and Anderlecht would like to extend it. Only the Norwegian doesn't have much appetite for 1B. He wants to make a name for himself in 1A. "My goal is to become a fixture here. I can still show more."

Kompany: "I stand by my statement from back then"

After his first starting spot a year and a half ago, Vincent Kompany told Arnstad that he would make the biggest career of all the players on the pitch at the time. "I still believe that," the Anderlecht coach said.

But why did it take so long for us to see him again? "Because in Belgium we are only allowed to put 18 players on the match sheet. But Kristian, like Marco Kana, has always had the right attitude."
