OTHER Anderlecht are currently in full talks with the entourage of Zeno Debast, Kristian Arnstad and Mario Stroeykens to extend their contracts. All three have a commitment that expires at the end of next season.
Debastgot his chance at the end of January and grabbed it with both hands. The 18-year-old central defender played five games, but then dropped out with an injury. Purple-White sees in him a key player for next season.
Arnstad, also only 18 years old, is not as far advanced in his development as Anderlecht had hoped. The past few months, he showed himself to be the leader of the U21 team, scoring a lot of (beautiful and important) goals. During the last matchday of the regular competition, he was allowed to play a quarter of an hour. Vincent Kompany was very pleased with his performance.
Finally, there is Stroeykens. The 17-year-old striker has played 71 minutes in the league this season, spread over seven appearances. The negotiations about his contract are the most difficult and have been dragging on for some time. The striker wants more opportunities, but the competition is fierce.
