INTERVIEWS René Weiler is currently active at the Japanese top club Kashima Antlers. Thousands of kilometres, however, do not stop him from following RSC Anderlecht. The Swiss was the last coach to win a prize with purple-white and now, with all his heart, he wishes them the cup.
"History and tradition don't score goals", Weiler's most talked-about statement that continued to resonate, it was also the seed for his dismissal at RSC Anderlecht. Yet, he was the one who won the last prize for Anderlecht.
Despite his forced departure, he continues to follow the club. "And I am very happy that they can finally take another prize. I really hope the club wins it. This cup final, I think, is a perfect moment for the club to start a new chapter."
