Vandenhaute: "1 million euro is a ridiculous amount".

INTERVIEWS RSC Anderlecht's U23 will probably joining the 1B division. At the moment, they are second and as good as assured of a top four spot. However, that entry will cost a lot of money, 1 million euro to be exact.


And that amount is "ridiculously high" according to Anderlecht chairman Wouter Vandenhaute. And he is not the only one with that opinion. Vandenhaute would even have said that Anderlecht won't pay that amount. Probably empty words because Anderlecht is trying for so long to get into 1B.

The high entry fee was set at the time to compensate the original 1B clubs that now get less attractive games. Even though a match against the RSC Anderlecht kids can hardly be called "less attractive" now.

Vandenhaute brought up the problem during the last Board of Directors of the Pro League. Let's wait and see if something will be done about it.
