INTERVIEWS A visibly very disappointed Wesley Hoedt spoke to Sporza after the game against Gent. "When you get so many chances, you can only look at yourself," said the defender. "We have to stay positive now and do everything we can to win two more."

"If you look at the number of chances, we should have won. That we don't, we have completely to blame on ourselves", opens Hoedt. "The match was a tactical joust. Gent had the ball in the first half, but they didn't feel they could become dangerous. After some tactical adjustments, we were in full control in the second half. Then we were very dangerous."

"Only ... These kind of games are decided by moments and we are failing in that now," said Hoedt. "It's the same story of the whole season: enough chances, even big chances, ... But if you don't make them, there's a football law that says you have to give one up. I also had a chance that absolutely had to go in.

"Sour to hope for the loss of others now".

And then there was Gent's one chance. "Half even," says Hoedt. "But it's also a quality to get it in. We don't cover short enough. We can blame ourselves for that. But when you get so many chances, you can only look at yourself."

Because of the defeat Anderlecht falls out of the top four. "We have to stay positive and do everything we can to win the last two games. It's sad that you then have to hope for the loss of others. Now it's up to them to see if they can handle the pressure."
