Herman Van Holsbeeck finished his first year as the manager of Anderlecht. He succeeded Michel Verschueren last year. Van Holsbeeck brought a new wind in the Anderlecht rangs, especially when it comes to transfers.

"We couldn't let Aruna go in the summer. But when a club offers enough money for him on January 31, we'll let him go. But I think he'll stay until the end of the season", he said.

Why couldn't Anderlecht bring in Buffel or Sonck?
"We can't pay their wages. It seems like the Belgians don't want to come back to their own clubs anymore. They prefer to play for the 15th in the German league."

What about the painful 0 on 18 in the Champions League?
"We let our young players play, but they missed experience", explains Herman Van Holsbeeck.

And what will 2005 bring?
"We want a new Belgian title. We can't be pleased with less. Though the biggest challenge will be to create a decent team spirit."
