Zirkzee: "We make each other better"

INTERVIEWS With two goals in the first half, Joshua Zirkzee had an important part in the 1-7 cup victory at La Louvière. "Always nice for the confidence," he said afterwards. That he is often a substitute in the league lately does not seem to bother him right away.
 


Zirkzee acknowledges that he always wants to play. "But we are with three good strikers," he referred to Benito Raman and Christian Kouamé. "It doesn't matter which one of us plays. The important thing is that all three of us are threatening." According to Zirkzee, the three match up well and make each other better. "Look how eager Raman was to fill in. That only makes the team better."

Zirkzee himself proved his added value as a substitute against Beerschot on Sunday. "I played twenty minutes and helped the team with an assist. That's what you expect from a substitute."

About the match against La Louvière he was also positive. "From minute one we were focused and we created spectacle."
