Refereeing Department: "Red Kouamé was correct"

OTHER In its weekly analysis of some questionable game phases, the Refereeing Department does not explain today about Lior Refaelov's disallowed goal. Christian Kouamé's red card is mentioned. Rightly red, that's how it sounds: "Kouamé endangers the safety of the opponent."


"Kouamé hits Ostend player Jälem with his leg outstretched and with the studs on the knee. With this offense he endangers the safety of the opponent. The referee shows the red card for serious foul play. The Professional Refereeing Department is fully behind the decision of the referee as it is a priority to protect the physical integrity of the players," the statement read.
