Brighton lets Tau leave to Egypt

TRANSFERS Percy Tau's English dream is over. The South African, who was active on loan at Anderlecht for six months last season, is moving to Al Ahly in Egypt. After three loans, this time it is a final transfer.


Tau did not do badly at Anderlecht, but Brighton stopped the loan in January. It hoped that Tau could help them fight the relegation. Brighton managed to save themselves, but Tau only got into action for 102 minutes.

Three years after his arrival, Brighton has now let the South African leave for good. Tau signed a four-year contract with Al Ahly, one of the biggest clubs in Egypt. Since 2005, it has only missed the national title twice, including last season. It has won the African Champions League in the past two seasons.
