Diaby finds new club in the Emirates

TRANSFERS After his departure from Anderlecht, Abdoulay Diaby has found a new club. The Malian striker will play for Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates. He was sidetracked at Sporting Lisbon.


With only two places in the starting eleven and one goal, Diaby's loan to Anderlecht during the second half of last season was not a success. At Sporting Lisbon, the striker was no longer needed. He has been training for the second team in recent weeks.

Diaby has now found a new club with Al Jazira. The striker signs a two-year contract with the champion of the United Arab Emirates. He meets old acquaintances Milos Kosanovic (ex-KV Mechelen and -Standard) and Thulani Serero (ex-Ajax and -Vitesse). The Dutchman Marcel Keizer is coach there.
