TRANSFERS According to the local newspaper La Nueva España, Anderlecht are showing interest in Manu Garcia of Sporting Gijon. Garcia is a 23-year-old attacking midfielder who comes from Manchester City's youth academy. He is part of the Spanish squad for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

At the age of 15, Garcia traded Gijon's youth for Manchester City's training center. On March 5 2016, two months after his 18th birthday, he came on for ten minutes against Aston Villa. Vincent Kompany was also standing between the lines at the time. It would be Garcia's only minutes in the Premier League.

In the summer of 2016, City loaned Garcia to Alaves, but that was not a success. In the second half of the season, Garcia played on loan at NAC in the Dutch second division. He became a fixed value there. The same goes for the next season in the Premier League. This was followed by a successful loan to Toulouse.

In the summer of 2019, Gijon bought back his youth product for 4 million euros. And they weren't complaining. In the past two seasons, Garcia collected 71 places in the starting eleven in the Spanish second division. In it, he scored four times and gave eleven assists.

With his performances, Garcia has won a selection for the Olympics, but has also aroused interest from clubs such as Santander, Sociedad, Udinese and Anderlecht. Garcia is still under contract with Gijon until 2024 and his market value is estimated at 5 million euros. It sounds like the player himself would like a transfer.
