Africa Cup U20 top scorer on his way to Anderlecht

TRANSFERS The Ugandan website ChimpReports reports that Anderlecht has reached an agreement with Police Football Club about the transfer of Derrick Kakooza. Kakooza is an 18-year-old striker who became the top scorer at the Africa Cup U20 in March.


Uganda made it to the final at the tournament. With five goals in six matches, Kakooza had a large share in the success. That earned him interest from Sampdoria, AC Milan and the Egyptian Al-Ahly, but Anderlecht would get him. Kakooza will sign for three years, ChimpReports reports.

Two weeks ago, Kakooza was called up for the Ugandan national team for the first time, but in the friendly against South Africa (2-0 loss) he did not come off the bench.
