Official: Zulj to Basaksehir

TRANSFERS What had been in the air for a while is now a fact: Peter Zulj moves on a permanent transfer from Anderlecht to the Turkish Basaksehir. Both teams report that. Zulj signs a three-year contract with Nacer Chadli's club.


Zulj came to Anderlecht in the winter of the 2018 - 2019 season as 'the best football player in Austria'. The Purple & White paid 2.5 million euros for the international from Sturm Graz. At Anderlecht he could never live up to the expectations. In 2.5 seasons in Brussels he came to 31 places in the starting eleven and 9 substitutions. He did not score once, but did provide five assists.

In the past six months, Anderlecht rented out the midfielder to Göztepe. Although he was not always a starting player, he scored four times and was good for two assists. These performances apparently convinced Basaksehir, twelfth in the Turkish highest division last season, to take him over from Anderlecht.
