YOUTH The U23 of RSC Anderlecht will not yet play in 1B next season. That will not happen until 2022 at the earliest. The general meeting of the Pro League will be held on Tuesday 25 May, where the decision must be ratified.

During that general meeting it will also be decided which professional clubs can place their U23 in 1B, first national amateurs, second and third division. In return, the amateur clubs are offered some advantages: financially they will benefit from it and promotion to 1B would be easier because the licensing conditions are weakened.

Still on the agenda is whether or not there will be another season in 1A with eighteen clubs and mini-play-offs, the current format. It is mainly the smaller clubs that want an extension because next season, in principle, three clubs have to be relegated and they would prefer to postpone that a bit. Much depends, of course, on how the top clubs feel about it.
