Swedish winger claims Tottenham deal done

The 25-year-old claims that a fee has been agreed between Spurs and his current club Anderlecht and is quoted as saying: "Spurs are perfect for me."

"Tottenham suits me perfectly," Wilhelmsson said. "I feel ready for the big move. I have got international experience with the national team, in the European Championship and the Champions League. It is a big thing to join Tottenham; it is a superb club in a terrific city - London."

"It's better to come to a club in the summer and take part in the pre-season. But when a club like Tottenham is in the picture, you have got to take the chance and not wait."

Tottenham have not yet confirmed any deal but head coach Martin Jol is known to be looking at adding a winger to his squad in the transfer window.
