YOUTH 22 players who were born in 1999 and who once played in a youth team of Anderlecht, are now playing professional football. An incredible achievement. Six of the boys broke through at the first team of Anderlecht. Others sought and found their way elsewhere.

The slightly older supporter certainly remembers. On September 5, 1999, Anderlecht were desolate last with two points from five games. The 6-0 defeat in Westerlo was an absolute low point in club history. Coach Arie Haan had to leave and under Jean Dockx and Frank Vercauteren Anderlecht did well. In the last weeks of the season, Anderlecht won almost every game. It beat Standard Liège with 0-6, humiliated AA Gent with 4-0 and won 2-5 against leader Racing Genk. Anderlecht even had a chance to win the title on the last match day, but despite a victory against Kortrijk, the Purple & White ended in third place. But the following years, successes followed.

In 1999, an exceptional generation of footballers was also born for Anderlecht. Bornauw, Saelemaekers, Amuzu, Sambi Lokonga, Delcroix and Dewaele made it to the first team of Anderlecht. Svilar, Antonucci, Ndayishimye, and probably Corryn and Foulon too, would undoubtedly have done the same if they had stayed a little longer. And then there are a whole host of others who left the Purple & White and made it via other clubs.

Now at Anderlecht
- Francis Amuzu (23/08/1999, Anderlecht since 2015)
- Albert Sambi Lokonga (22/10/1999, Anderlecht 2009-2010 and again since 2012)
- Hannes Delcroix (28/02/1999, Anderlecht since 2013)

- Sieben Dewaele (02/02/1999, Anderlecht 2009-2020, now rented to Heerenveen)
