GAMES Anderlecht lost points again, this time against Zulte Waregem. The Mauves ended the match on a 2-2 draw, but deserved more this time. This way, Anderlecht remains at the seventh place in the ranking, but the gap with the top 4 remains small.

Anderlecht started well, but the first chance for Zulte Waregem was immediately a goal: Seck headed the 1-0 against the net. Five minutes later, Bruno was left alone but his header missed the target. Anderlecht reacted after 15 minutes of play. Nmecha's effort was stopped by Bostyn and Bundu missed the rebound. Not much later, Mukairu missed in front of an empty, open goal. Luckily for him, he was caught offside, so the goal wouldn't have counted anyway. Three minutes before half time, Nmecha then finally scored. He was sent deep by Mukairu and scored: 1-1.

Anderlecht continued to put pressure on Zulte Waregem in the second half leading to a chance for Bundu, but his headed missed the target. Also Cullen's effort, after 60 minutes, went over.  After 65 minutes,Sambi Lokonga brought Anderlecht ahead: Verschaeren placed Sambi alone in front of the goalkeeper and scored. But just ten minutes later, Bruno equalised with a shot in the left corner: 2-2.

In the final phase of the match, both sides tried to score the third goal. When Marcq touched the ball with the hand in the box, the VAR called referee Boterberg to review the phase on the screen. Boterberg eventually decided not to give a penalty. That way, the match ended in a draw.
