"Quality below average, other wise we would have finished it"

INTERVIEWS No victory for Vincent Kompany on his debut as head coach. After the game he spoke calmy to the press and was clear in his analysis. "Actually we had to win, but in the last five minutes I felt that things were about to go wrong."

"A team that believes in it to the end can always achieve a result. Hats off to Mouscron", Kompany opened his press conference. "I will come back to this with players. We were good in the games, had the scond ball and the pressing was good. We imposed our game for a large part of the game. Not with the number of chances we wanted."

"This shouldn't happen again"

For the last five minutes, Kompany felt that things were about to go wrong. "It was a perfect pass that was headed in perfectly. To reduce the risk, you have to go to the penalty area with a lot of players. The guys who weren't there will feel it," said Kompany.

"Enough quality at the front"

Kompany saw better Anderlecht today than in Mechelen. "Today we looked into the depth more often. "I don't want to see fear"

"And that's not because we just tapped the ball around, but because we alwasy conquered it quickly. Also the switch, conquering the second ball, the pressing and intesity were good. But I think the quality was below our level today. Otherwise you will finish that match."

"My message to the boys was: use this as motivation for the coming weeks. Next week there will be Ostend. Take that match with all the courage and energy. I want to see zero percet fear. I am here to get the fear out of the team. The players should play football with pleasure."
