Replace Vlap 'too fanatic' as a precaution

INJURIES - INTERVIEWS Shortly before the hour, Michel Vlap appeared to injure his groin. The Dutchman continued playing, but he was substituted ten minutes later. Vlap was clearly not at peace and grumbled loudly. After the game, both Vlap adn coach Frank Vercauteren returned to 'the incident'.

"We replace Michel as a precaution. According to the doctor, the injury could get worse if he continues to play", said Vercauteren during his press conference. "After the game, Michel said he felt good and wanted to score. He admitted that, I did what I had to do".

Meanwhile, Vlap has apologized on Twitter for his fierce reaction to the change: "I dhad a feeling I could get mor out of it, but the rightly changed me to avoid a groin injury", writes Vlap. "I was certainly not angry with the coach and the medical staff. They had a by taking no risks. Some times I am a bit fanatic. I still wanted to be important to the group and to everyone who cares about Anderlecht. I think they call it sporting emotions".
