Pery Tau on the way to Anderlecht

TRANSFERS Het Laatste Nieuws reported this morning that Percy Tau is about to sign for Andelrecht. The 26 years old South African attacker would come on a rental basis from the English club Brighton & Hove Albion, where he finds dificult to obtain a work permit.

It is not a great secret that coach Franky Vercauteren would like to have an extra (versatile) attacker at his disposal. Tau lives up to that profile and can handle both flanks and deep ahead.

For Tau, it would already be the third consecutive year that a Belgian club has rented him. In the 2018/2019 season, he scored 13 goals in 35 games for the Union Saint-Gilloise 1B club and also gave 13 assist. The last season, Tau was loaned to Club Brugge, for the western Flamish club he scored 4 goals and 8 assists in 30 games.

The 1.75 m tall South African will soon pass his medical test and then sign a 1 season contract. In all likelihood, no purchase option is stipulated in the agreement, the latter remains to be confirmed.

Tau was also on Antwerp's wish list, it is claimed in broker circles, but Tau himself was more inclined to a change to Anderlecht, despite the absence of European football.
