INTERVIEWS Karel Van Eetvelt does not hide his ambition. He dares to say that RSC Anderlecht should go for the title next season. Anderlecht has no other option than to be the best in the country. But first there are other (financial) matters to deal with.

"The financial results were dramatic. Fortunately, we work with private shareholders who want to continue to invest. Although we know that the results will have to turn because otherwise things will not go well," the CEO is honest.

"It is now up to us to correct past mistakes, there is no longer any room for crazy transfers. Beware, we will still pay good footballers well. But we will no longer offer a salary of three million euros. That is way too high for us. "

Ambition

And Van Eetvelt has the ambition to turn the tide: "If you can count me on one thing at the end of the season, that is the final classification. Anderlecht has no other option than to be the best in the country. I am ambitious enough to say we should go for the title ".

"Several clubs have done well in recent years: Club Brugge, Charleroi, Antwerp, Genk. I appreciate that and it also increases competition. That keeps us awake."
