Official: Frutos joins staff

OTHER What has been in the air for a few days has now also been confirmed on the official Anderlecht site: fan favorite Nicolas Frutos returns and joins the technical staff.


Frutos was a popular player at Anderlecht (2005 - 2010). Not only because of his countless goals, but also because of the pitiful agony that the Argentinian striker endured due to his countless injuries. However, Frutos never lost his love for Anderlecht and returned to Belgium in 2015 to lead the Purple & White's U21. When Hein Vanhaezebrouck became a trainer in late 2017, Frutos went back to South America.

Due to the disappearance of Zetterberg, Davies and Ngalula (to U21) a place had become vacant in the staff next to Frank Vercauteren and Jonas De Roeck. Frutos is very happy with his return to Anderlecht. He still played with Kompany and trained as a player under Vercauteren.
