OTHER As many clubes are suffering heavy financial losses from the current coronavirus crissis, some suggeston have been made to postpone the introduction of Financial Fair Play rules in the Jupiler Pro League. But this is no counted Pierre Francois. The president of the Pro League (and also the former presidente of Standard Liege) is not willing to make concessions.

The next season, there will be a first check of the Financial Fair Play. Accordin to these rules, a club cannot los more than 5 million euros in a three-year period. Partly due to the implementation of a capital increase, that amount may still amount to 35 millions.

The first verification would only verify the last two years. All the clubs would pass this check without any problem, except Anderlecht.

In the 2018-2019 season, Anderlecht registered a negative result of -16.3 million euros. Due to a capital increase, the club returned to +11 million euros. As result, Andelrecht cannot lose more than 16 million euros in the nex season. Anderlecht is struggling with the high salary costs, players who will not be sold and who will lose European football. In addition, it will be almost impossible to meet the conditions of the FFP to 2019-2020 season.

Possibles penalties

When a club violates the FFP terms for the first time, a 3 points deduction applies at the start of the new season. On a second offense, this become 6 points and on a third offense, 9 points deductions folows. Furthemore, Anderlecht can even lose their money on television with a third penalty.

The meeting around the rules Financial Fair Play is scheduled for the Pro League on Friday, June 12.
