TRANSFERS According to Calciomercato, Yari Verschaeren is in the interest of Leicester, Wolverhampton and Aston Villa. The Italian website knows that Verschaeren is out for another two months with an ankle injury.

A transfer in January is almost impossible. Not only because of the injury, also because Verschaeren is not yet planning to take the step abroad. The mentioned clubs are also not immediately destinations for which you would drop everything.

Also note that Leicester, Wolverhampton and Aston Villa have already come shopping on the Belgian market in the recent past. Leicester strengthened itself this year with Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet. Wolverhampton took Leander Dendoncker away from Anderlecht in the summer of 2018 and saw him break through completely in 2019. Aston Villa strengthened itself last summer with Club Brugge players Wesley and Marvelous Nakamba and the Belgian defender Bjorn Engels.

Could it be that a Belgian agent came to his English contacts with the name of Verschaeren and then dropped this in the press?
