Martinez: "Kompany is unique"

INTERVIEWS Vincent Kompany had to let a few international matches pass him by due to injuries. What about the European Championship? Is Roberto Martinez still counting on him and, if fit, can he go to the European Championship 2020. Martinez explains.


"We have to stay fair to Vinnie. If he doesn't find his rhythm and playing minutes in the next six months, it would be unfair to ask him at such a high level as the European Championship to help the team," says Martinez in an exclusive interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, "On the other hand, he is unique. He might as well pick things up again, play everything until the European Championship and he is indispensable to the team."
