INTERVIEWS Anderlecht are pulling the youth's card this season. If this policy had been implemented a number of years ago, boys such as Dodi Lukebakio and Orel Mangala were undoubtedly in the first team. The latter closed the door of Neerpede in the summer of 2016. Mangala went to Borussia Dortmund on a loan basis.

In his first season in Germany, the central midfielder played for the U19 of Borussia Dortmund, where he scored four goals and five assists in 34 games. However, it was not possible to break through in the first team, after which Mangala made the switch to VFB Stuttgart. Last season, a loan to Hamburg SV followed, where he was again active in 34 games that season. This season he returned to mother club Stuttgart, where he appeared 6 times on the match sheet. Under the leadership of Johan Walem at the U21 of the national team, he is the patron in midfield.

Mangala cherishes everything but resentment towards Anderlecht. "I may have been born a few years early to be part of the new path. But perhaps I would never have arrived in Germany if I had had my chance in the first team of Anderlecht." Mangala said in an interview with La Dernière Heure.

"You will never hear me say a bad word about Anderlecht. It remains the club of my heart. I was formed there and I never forget what they did for me."

Mangala's transfer value is currently estimated at eight million euros. Can he be an option next summer when a spot becomes available in the purple and white midfield?
