INTERVIEWS According to goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge, Anderlecht had everything to win it smoothly. "Hubert had to make seven or eight good saves. That means we had the chance to win."

Still it almost went wrong. "The biggest problem was that we didn't kill the game," said Van Crombrugge. "After that counter goal you see that we lack experience to keep our heads cool. We ran into unnecessary trouble. Occasionally we made the wrong decisions, but luckily it didn't have any major consequences."

Fifteen minutes before time, the Ghent scenario popped up for a moment, but the VAR rejected Lyle Foster's equalizer for an error on Van Crombrugge. "The striker went for the ball, but he touched my hand more than the ball. For me, that was an attacking error."
