INTERVIEWS After the match against Beerschot, Vincent Kompany appeared in front of the Sporza microphone. He indicated that his injury might be better than expected and again preached positivism. "I didn't want to play like in Bruges. That wasn't the football we are facing."

"It was a fight," Kompany began. "Beerschot has a coach who stands for it, so we knew that beforehand. Today was the story of the start of the season. We start well, got into position and what we had prepared worked."

"But we get caught on things that have to be taken out. We also work on that every day. Take that second goal: we can head the ball far away, but we can't. Ball lands in the back and boom goal."

"I'd rather lost 5-0 in Bruges"

"I was very angry after the game in Bruges," Kompany continued. "I do not stand for football that we played there. I would rather have lost 5-0 there. Today we did not play like in Bruges. It was a fight, but we did play our football."

Kompany repeated several times that he mainly wants to see Anderlecht bring beautiful football and that the results are currently subordinate. "Today we have to work twice as hard as the others to get along."

Can this fiercely fought victory be a turning point? "We can't say that today," says Kompany. "We have to show a good face in the coming matches. We are not avoiding playing football. We want to play positive football. We are building a future story and everything depends on how we play football."

"I wanted to take a risk"

Kompany himself was barely 25 minutes on the pitch. Then he fell out again injured. "I don't think it's as bad as last time. Today would be a risk anyway. I felt good at training. I hate it when the boys face the lions at a difficult moment and I can't be there."
