TRANSFERS In his search for a new deep striker, Anderlecht arrived at Kemar Roofe of Leeds United. That is what Het Nieuwsblad writes. The 26-year-old Englishman with Jamaican roots meets the required profile, but is still out for a few weeks with an injury.

Roofe is a youth product from West Bromwich Albion. He didn't break through and loan periods to clubs from the fourth and third divisions followed. At the age of 21 he moved to fourth division division Oxoford. In 2016, eighteen goals earned him a transfer to Leeds.

Leeds then paid 3.5 million euros for Roofe. In his first year he scored three times in the English second division. The past seasons eleven and fifteen times respectively. The fast-paced and agile striker still has a one-year contract in northern England. Leeds would like to extend this. With a sale, the club asks for 7 million euros.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Anderlecht already inquired. Glasgow Rangers and West Bromwich are also interested. Roofe suffered an ankle injury last week in a friendly game against Western Sidney Warriors. BBC then reported that he would stand aside for four weeks.
