Vlap: "I'm looking forward to it"

INTERVIEWS Michel Vlap is eager to play his first official game for RSC Anderlecht. The Dutchman had a future plan in mind for some time. RSC Anderlecht fits that list perfectly.


Vlap wants to do well with Purple & White, although he realizes that that might not work out right away: "I believe in myself, but it may not work out right away. That is not a drama. If we play well, the results will follow."

Transfer

RSC Anderlecht and Vlap had found each other quickly, only Heerenveen did not want to let him go. So a lot had to be done before the transfer was completed. "Personally it was quite difficult", is Vlap honest, "Fortunately an agreement was reached. One of 8 million euros plus bonuses. It is strange that I am suddenly worth so much. But when you see where I come from, it is of course beautiful."

Supporters

Despite the high transfer price, Vlap has no star allures, on the contrary: "At Heerenveen I had a great relationship with the supporters, I want that here too. That's why I want to take French lessons. That way I can talk to all supporters."

"But the best way to make you loved is, of course, scoring," laughs the Dutchman, "Everyone wants Anderlecht to become a successful club again, the board, the supporters. And I think Vincent Kompany will succeed too, he can do that and I want to help him by scoring a lot. If there is an attack, you have to be in the box and I will be there. I really feel like it. "
