OTHER The match fixing file around KV Mechelen is in danger of becoming a complete squat (if it wasn't already). Following a complaint by Beerschot, a Brussels judge decided on Saturday that the start of the competition should be postponed. The Football Association and Pro League do not accept this decision

The BAS decided earlier this week that KV Mechelen and Waasland-Beveren cannot be relegated due to gaps in the federal regulations. Beerschot, hoping to profit, did not agree and went to the court of first instance. He decided that the start of the competition should be postponed until the BAS has completed its entire judgment.

That judgment may only be available at the end of August. And the KVBV does not want to wait that long to start the competition. It is now filing a third-party appeal so that it can be heard by the court. The court must then decide whether it will stick to its first position.

At the moment, the competition start is still delayed.
