TRANSFERS What has been in the air for weeks has finally become reality: Michel Vlap is an Anderlecht player. The Purple & White announced that the Dutchman had signed a five-year contract.

Anderlecht have been trying for weeks to get Vlap from Heerenveen, but the Dutch showed themselves to be tough negotiators. Vlap himself repeatedly expressed his wish to come to Anderlecht in the intervening period. Now it's finally time. This morning he put his signature in Neerpede under a commitment for five seasons.

"I am very happy with this transfer. The conversations with the club immediately showed that they really wanted me to be there. That gave me a good feeling," says the 22-year-old Frisian in a first reaction on rsca.be. "RSC Anderlecht is a challenge that I have to take on. I know I have the ability to succeed here. I hope to give the fans a lot of great moments."

Manager Michael Verschueren says he is pleased that he can welcome Vlap after long negotiations. "He has the qualities to become a very big player and will be of great added value to the team. I look forward to discovering the impact of the Yari-Michel duo on the quality of our football."
