INTERVIEWS Sebastiaan Bornauw was disappointed when he appeared in front of the Sporza microphone immediately after the match against Spain. "This hurts incredibly. It is a pity that in the end that one goal still falls."
"Spain was the better team with a lot of possession", Bornauw admits. "But we also had some chances and held on for a long time. We played a strong game against a strong Spain with well-known players. We managed to come out on the counter attack a few times."
"It is a pity that at the end that goal still falls. There was more in it. I tried to throw myself in front of the ball and I think I still touched it, but he went inside anyway."
On Saturday, the Belgians will play one more match, at 9 pm, against host team Italy. Bornauw also wants to give everything in that match. "Our European Championship is not over yet. We want to show what we are worth and try to win that game."
