GAMES - YOUTH The Belgian U21 have also lost their second match at the European Championship. Against Spain they were close a draw, but the painful 2-1 fell a few minutes before the end. Spain was better, but the Devils certainly had their opportunities to score on the counter attack.

Sebastiaan Bornauw and Elias Cobbaut were in the starting eleven for the Belgians. Bornauw forced Genk player Casper De Norre to the bench. Cobbaut became left back. Francis Amuzu came in at the hour. Yari Verschaeren and Alexis Saelemaekers stayed on the bench.

Belgium quickly fell behind, but halfway through the first half, Bornauw scored after a corner. Spain dominated afterwards, but Lokeren goalkeeper Ortwin De Wolf played a good game. In the last twenty minutes, Belgium had opportunities on the counter attack, but either the last pass was missing or the finish was not good enough. Two minutes before time Spain showed how to make use of a counter attack.

Because of this defeat, Belgium is eliminated for the next round.
