INTERVIEWS No Marc Coucke to speak to the furious crowd on Sunday. He was on holiday. So Michael Verschueren did it. He realizes that the results can have dramatic consequences. "Not getting European football would make a hole in our budget."

Where the Anderlecht supporters let their sleep fall due to the sporting malaise, Verschueren sees the financial picture. "If we miss European football, this will make a hole in the budget and we must review our strategy. We must absolutely avoid that. But I and the whole club remain competitive," it says in Het Laatste Nieuws.

"The last games of the regular competition gave hope. We thought we could get European football relatively easily and we even dreamed of the second place. However, I have no explanation for the poor start of Play-Off 1. At Genk we were better and against Club played a strong second half. After the equalizer against Anderlecht the heads went down. "

"I understand the disappointment of the supporters. But we have to sweat it out this season. That they ask for Coucke's departure? I blame the content of the songs on the emotions of the moment."
