Anderlecht scores 4/10 financially

OTHER Today, Het Nieuwsblad publishes an analysis of the annual accounts of the sixteen first division teams last season. Anderlecht made a loss of 6.4 million euros in 2017-2018. Figures that could cause sporting problems from next season.

There were no top performance against this high salary. That means that of all first division teams, Anderlecht pays the most salary per point: 634,188 euros. Club Brugge is second in this ranking with 364,867 euros. Waasland-Beveren achieves the highest wage efficiency. They only pay 140,463 euros of salary per point.

Furthermore, it appears that Anderlecht had equity of 8.3 million euros last season.

In the economy there are parameters to measure whether a company is healthy. Het Nieuwsblad applied this to the professional clubs and Anderlecht scored 4/10. That makes it tenth out of sixteen.

The 6.4 million euros from last season can put the Purple & White in trouble. Starting next season, the Pro League will introduce a Financial Fair Play. In addition, the loss over three seasons may not exceed 5 million euros. Currently, five first division teams have to pay attention, including Anderlecht.

If this rule is violated, points may be deducted or the club may miss out on TV revenue.
