Leoni scores twice for Belgian U19

YOUTH The Belgian U19 played a friendly game against FC Dender from the first amateur class on Thursday. The young Devils won with 3-2. Anderlecht player Theo Leoni scored twice from the penalty spot.


Leoni, like Lucas Lissens and Mohamed Bouchouari, played one half. Thierry Lutonda stood between the lines for an hour. Yari Verschaeren was also selected, but Anderlecht coach Fred Rutten did not let him go.

The game was part of a three-day training camp organized by national coach Jacky Matthijsen as part of the Elite round that the young Devils will play in three weeks. There they can qualify for the European Championships next summer. Belgium plays against Italy, Serbia and Ukraine. The winner goes to the European Championships
