INTERVIEWS Mile Svilar closed the door of Neerpede in 2017 behind him. The young keeper was eager to become the first keeper. Coach René Weiler did not listen to that. Goalkeeping coach at the youth, Patrick Verheyden considers Weiler responsible for the departure of the young Svilar: "He broke him."

here is the passage of the last game after RSC Anderlecht became champion in 2017. Purple-white won the title in the penultimate game of the playoffs. With one match to go, that was the ideal time to put Mile Svilar under the bar, but Weiler refused.

"I have insisted very hard," says Verheyden, "Both with Max de Jong and Nicolas Frutos, but Weiler did not bend. Weiler broke Svilar, but no one has done anything to prevent him from doing so."
