Zulj was almost in Italy

TRANSFERS Peter Zulj has been on the radar at RSC Anderlecht for several months now. Still, it almost went wrong. Michaël Verschueren intercepted the Austrian when he was on his way to Italy for his medical tests.


Purple-white get already offered the Austrian at the beginning of the winter training camp. Only then was it decided to only take action after that training camp. When it was finally that far, Verschueren contacted the agent of Zulj.

Only Verschueren was told that he was too late and that Zulj was already on his way to the Italian Empoli. The technical director immediately contacted the player and he was quickly convinced to choose for Anderlecht. "48 hours later, the deal was completed," says Verschueren, "he will bring us creativity, something we missed, he is our Pozuelo."
