OTHER Anderlecht has again sent a number of players away on loan this season. Now that most competitions are halfway, it's time to take a look at their situation. Today: Davy Roef
Contract with Anderlecht until: 30.06.2020
Currently playing for: Waasland-Beveren
Purchase option? € 750,000
Roef played in the youth for Wilrijk and Beerschot, before he ended up at Anderlecht. In the summer of 2012 he was taken to the A-core.
On 19 January 2014 he made his debut for the purple-white main force when he replaced the injured Silvio Proto. The following season, he played six games, but in the 2015-2016 season he did not play more than two cup games.
In the first half of 2016-2017 Roef had a starting place, but afterwards he was sacrificed for Frank Boeckx. Roef eventually went on a rental basis to Deportivo La Coruña, where he eventually played only one game.
Like last season, Roef is on loan at Waasland-Beveren, where he is undisputedly a titular. In nineteen games he kept the zero four times this season. That is already two more than last season in thirty games.
Waasland-Beveren is currently fourteenth with twenty points and Roef is responsable for a number of those points. De young goalie is in any event a crucial link in the fight against degradation.
Waasland-Beveren wants to put the contractually determined 750,000 euros on the table in order to retain Roef for longer. Roef would thus pulverize the current record transfer of 400,000 (for Francesco Forte).
A personal agreement is not yet there between Roef and Waasland-Beveren, but it looks like Roef will play for 'De Leeuwen' next season as well.
