Very young Anderlecht lose at Stayen

GAMES Anderlecht have not been able to profit from the loss of points of Genk, Antwerp and Club Brugge. With five teenagers in the starting eleven, Purple & White lost 4-2 to STVV. However, Purple & White was 1-2 ahead after an hour.


Because of the many injuries Hein Vanhaezebrouck made the 17-year-old midfielder Yari Verschaeren make his debut. After just eight minutes Anderlecht was 1-0 behind after a goal by Bezus. More than five minutes before the break Santini scored the 1-1. He headed Amuzu's cross into the goal. Not much later, Verschaeren was close to 1-2, but the debutant found the post on his way.

The lead came after the break. Verschuzeren sent Amuzu deep. He played around Steppe, but the goalkeeper put him down. Santini did not fail from eleven meters. Anderlecht could not enjoy for long. Tomiyasu equalized after a corner.

Barely four minutes later, STVV even took the lead. After the loss of ball possession of Vranjes, Bezus finds Kamada. The fast-jumping Japanese set its season total to nine. Vanhaezebrouck brought Lawrence, Bakkali and Doku after the deficit. Especially the latter was noticeable with some good accelerations. It did not work. In the added time, Boli made it 4-2.
