OTHER Former Standard chairman Roland Duchâtelet claims that matches were arranged during Play-Off 1 of the 2013-2014 season to make Anderlecht champion. "I can not say which one, look at the matches and then you'll find out for yourself."

Anderlecht started that season at Play-Off 1 with five points behind Standard. On the opening match day, Anderlecht lost in Liege. In the following nine games, Purple & White gained 22 points and became the champion with two points ahead of Standard.

"Strange things happened then", Duchâtelet claims today in Het Laatste Nieuws. "I said at the time that something was wrong, but that has never been investigated, but there are two matches from Anderlecht that are suspicious, and hopefully there will be clarity."

We can not review all matches, but we have taken our own match reports. There we find one game where we make an indication of things that might be considered suspicious (note the use of the words 'possible', 'would' and 'if'). In the third game against Lokeren, Anderlecht scored 0-1 after sliding away from Maric. And in a 1-2-score Lokeren could get a penalty kick after Kouyaté got the ball against the hand. Anderlecht won that match, led by Alexandre Boucaut, with 1-2.

On the other hand, Anderlecht got a penalty in the final match with a 1-0 lead for an error that happened one and a half meters outside the penalty area. We also all remember the red card from Mitrovic in Bruges because he stood nose-to-nose with Engels and that latter fell for dead against the turf.
