Common stadium for Anderlecht and Brussels?

Michel Verschueren, former manager of Anderlecht, wants a brand new stadium in Brussels on a short term. In this stadium, both RSC Anderlecht as Brussels would play their home matches.


Michel Verschueren: "I think there should come an entirely new stadium in Brussels with 35.000 to 40.000 seats in ten years. The Heizel belongs to the past, they have to make a athletics stadium of that. And then, they have to search for a new location for a new football temple.

"I already have a location in mind, the industry will also do an effort and with the support of the city of Brussels, this can be realised. Why can't Anderlecht and Brussels play in the same stadium? Anderlecht have to grow to stay leader, and that's only possible with a new stadium."

"Getting the Olympic Games to Brussels, that's dreaming. Building a new stadium isn't. I can only hope I can give the kick-off of the opening match", he concluded.
