OTHER A week after Sebastiaan Bornauw, an other 19-year-old defender made his debut for Anderlecht. Hannes Delcroix was allowed to come in at half time. Delcroix was playing was already getting close to the first team last team, but it didn't happen because of an injury

Delcroix is, just like Saelemaekers, Amuzu, Sambi Lokonga and Bornauw a player from the talented generation of 1999. Of all these players it was long expected that he would be the first to make his debut. In January 2017, René Weiler took him on the winter training camp and the Antwerp resident was the only youth product in the beginning of last season that was transferred to the first team.

Unfortunately, last year was a lost year for the Belgian with Haitian roots. An unpleasant foot injury caused Delcroix to stand aside for months. Only in March he was fit again and he played again for the Reserves. During the preparation for this season he got a new chance from Hein Vanhaezebrouck and he grabbed it. Delcroix fought himself past Josué Sa and Abdul Danté in the pecking order of the defenders.

Last week at Kortrijk the youth international stayed on the bench for ninety minutes. Something he already did in February last year at Lokeren. Yesterday came the big debut against Oostende. Milic fell out at half time and Delcroix, also left footed, had to come in.
